Well, here we are at the end of another year.....and what a Doosey it's been for my family...it all started with my husband's back going out on him at the end of last December and being unable to work since then....things have just kinda snowballed from there. If you go to www.anything-i-think-about.blogspot.com I have summarized the problems of the last 2 months!
I'm thinking about making New Year's Resolutions and putting them on one of my blogs...then they'll be public and maybe I'll feel more accountable for trying to keep them! We'll see!
Thanks for visiting and I really do plan on posting more often....that's one of my resolutions refenced above!!

My Birthday Today!

So, today is my birthday....I'm 44.
Couldn't afford a premade cake, so Duncan Hines it was!
The cake didn't look so great, so I'm not including a picture of it (I messed up the top when I inverted it....left it on the pan too long, so the top peeled off.....now, I'm old enough to know bettter than that don't ya think?!).
Anyway, so when the icing went on, cake got mixed up in it, too..so it's kind of gross looking...but tastes good!

My Birthday
Well, tomorrow will mark the anniversary of me turning yet another year older.....I'm really not handling being in my 40's very well, even though I've already been here a few years! Heaven knows how I will react to turning the big 50 in 6 years.
I think the age I would like to stay at if such things were possible, would be in my mid to late 20's, but armed with the wisdom that comes with age and experience.
Anyway, my 16 and 17 year old kids are supposed to bake me a cake....will post pictures tomorrow to show you how it turns out!

The End of Another Election Year

So here we are.....FINALLY.....at the end of another tortuous election year!
Can you believe it's been 8 years since George W. Bush took office? and 7 years since 911?
Wow, as my blog title states.....Time Keeps on Flying......and boy does it ever.
All I can say is that I am sooooooooo glad that the election is almost here and gone! Of course, whoever gets in definitely has a mess to deal with, but hopefully they won't mess it up too much more before the next election...ha-ha!
Remember....my blog, my opinion....I sure will miss Bush! I know he's not perfect, but I came to really love him after 9-11-01......I consider that my generation's "Big Event" of our lifetime, so far.

Tagged!
So, I hang out with a group of bloggers via the internet and we play a game of "virtual" tag and I have been tagged by Mommy Mia's World and Chatty Chica.
I'm supposed to list eight random facts/habits about myself:
1. Diet Coke is my drink of choice.
2. I would love to be able to work at home full-time.
3. I've been on two cruises.
4. I love my in-laws!
5. My favorite breakfast is grits, eggs, toast and bacon.
6. I watch the Food Network all the time.
7. I'm the youngest of 4 children.
8. I am barely a Baby Boomer (I'm right at the cutoff !)
The Rules:
1. Each player starts with eight random fact/habits about themselves.
2. People who are tagged need to write their own blog about their eight things and post these rules.
3. A the end of your blogpost, you need to choose eight people to get tagged and list their name.
4. Don't forget to leave them a comment telling them they're tagged and to read your blog.
Here's the eight blogs I am tagging, so check 'em out!:
Baltimore Housewife
Marvelous Medley
Tele Twenties
Angie's Silly Stuff
Thrifty Thoughts
Busy Bee Village
Military Wifes Life
Happy Healthy Families

Where has the time gone?!

So, my daughter is 17 years old, a senior in high school and graduates this school year.......where in the world has 17 years gone?
It seems like just yesterday, I was having my C-section and wondering what her future would hold.
Yes, I have plenty of pictures and a book with awards, report cards, activities and such, but I guess I'm just melancholy that my little girl is almost an adult.
I've always been a very emotional person and can cry at the drop of a hat....I even cried when she drove off for the first time alone with her new driver's license....I've already warned her about her graduation because I'm sure the tears will flow! I just need to psyche myself up to not have an all out cry, but to save it for later!
Anyway, I guess all I can do is keep praying for her everyday to make the right choices and trust in what we have taught her......someone please pass the tissue, I'm tearing up already....

Wrinkles In Time
So, I am turning 44 this November and I have become quite obsessed with wrinkles, especially on my face and hands.
Admittedly, I have not taken care of my skin as I should, so I should not have been blind-sided by the appearance of "crows feet" and "laugh lines".
Before I turned 40, I'd always managed to look younger than my age, but had a rude awakening at the Wal-Mart the other day.........I had to go get my husband some chewing tobacco (I know I'm an enabler, but my husband has been unable to work since last December since he is having so much back pain...he doesn't hardly ever drink alcohol, isn't abusive, etc, so I oblige)
ANYWAY...I was at the Wal-mart customer service ordering the tobacco...the young cashier starts to ring it up and it automatically pops up with the display on the register that says something to the effect..."does customer appear older than 40?" without hesitation and no asking for i.d., she went right on through the question. Quite a blow to the old ego!!!
Can someone please pass the wrinkle cream!?!

Wasted Time
So here's my blog about getting things done instead of waiting.....well, I've spent the better part of half my Saturday trying to get this blog set up.....as you can see with not much luck! I tried a new template, did something wrong and it didn't work...tried to revert back to original template I saved, and something went wrong there also...lol. So here we are at the basics and I will be working on this and adding more relevant posts soon!
